Sleep Harvester® extensively conducts both sleep research and ergonomic research in collaboration with Professor John Groeger, Nottingham Trent University to develop, design and innovate new ergonomic mattresses. 

Our Founder and Award-winning scientist Dr Ilyas Ansari started developing his health ergonomic mattresses 9 years ago when neither the systematic, in-depth ergonomic research existed nor this novel approach was reported in the UK mattress industry. Based on Dr Ansari's ergonomic mattresses, FIRA developed the first ever ergonomic criteria in the UK using anthropometric data supporting tests involving pressure mapping to analyse pressure distribution throughout the body, postural analysis and subjective assessment from the test users of various shape, size, frame and weight. 

Thus, Dr Ansari became the mattress ergonomics pioneer in the UK who introduced the research backed ergonomic mattresses. Furthermore, he is the first ever UK scientist to combine sleep research and ergonomics research to develop novel, health ergonomic mattresses.

 Earlier, the ergonomic approach was applied to the other furniture in the UK.
