Dr Ilyas Ansari is an Award-winning British scientist and innovator with expertise in designing, developing and producing health ergonomic mattresses. 

Ilyas is the first innovator to have received the UK’s first ever Ergonomics Excellence Award for developing the scientifically proven high performance body adaptive, health ergonomic mattresses. The Award was presented to him at the British Parliament, London. Ilyas is a mattress ergonomics pioneer in the UK who brought ergonomics to the forefront by linking it to a mattress design and development. Earlier the ergonomics was largely applied to the other furniture only.
 
Ilyas is the first scientist in the UK to team up with Professor John Groeger, Nottingham Trent University and the UK's largest Furniture Industry Research Association (FIRA) to conduct an independent Sleep Research and Ergonomics Research on the same mattresses. 

Ilyas has developed his signature, innovative and high performance Ergonomic Health Technology® to power his proprietary advanced healthcare foams used in sleep, sports and health products. He has developed many healthcare foams including Sleep Resonance Foam®, Sports Recovery Foam®, Airpulse medical memory®, ErgoCore® foam, ErgoEdge® foam and Sleep Catalyst Foam®. Furthermore, his other advanced, proprietary innovations include sleep secret formula called ErgoPosture®, Active Cooling Windows®, ergomedic®, ergopaedic®, ErgoTurn®, ergocoil®, ergogel® and ergocool® technologies.

Ilyas has won many laurels including Who’s Who in Science  Engineering, USA and Who’s Who Emerging Leader Under 40, USA. He worked as a Post Doctorate Research Fellow in Engineering with Leeds University, UK. He was also on the panel of external examiners for the Master of Engineering (MEng) dissertation thesis examinations. He is a Lead Auditor for Environmental Management System (ISO 14001). Formerly, he also served on the editorial boards of many research journals.

Last but not least, Ilyas was a Director of Thornhill Community Academy Trust when Channel 4's groundbreaking, hit series Educating Yorkshire was filmed which became a phenomenon.
